TreeTabs2 Documentation

More documentation will follow shortly!

Groups are similar to folders - both are just ways to store tabs.

Here is an example showing folders, groups, and a tab tree. All “parents” show the number of children in a tiny overlay on the favicon. Notice how folders can be named (unlike tabs), and nested within other folders.

Folders, just like tree “branches” can be collapsed by clicking on the parent icon:

Here, the smaller group is active, so you can't even see the tabs that are in the larger “ungrouped” group:

It depends on how you like to organize your tabs. Folders let you keep everything on one screen, optionally minimized into a tidy label. Groups let you work with a group of tabs (say, for a specific project/task) without being cluttered by tabs from another project/task.

Hi Thomas, is it not clear how to add open tabs to groups or folders… So far I just ended up dragging the tabs from Ungrouped to a new Group. Seems to be working… Is that how it works? Thanks!

Yes, use Drag&Drop to put tabs into folders and/or groups.

I am testing a new feature that will automatically move tabs into folders when the web address matches a rule that you could define. For example, tabs for youtube.com could automatically get moved into a group called YT. Until that gets implemented, tabs must be manually dragged & dropped.

Hi Tom Is there a way to have the TT2 window stay popped up after opening a tab? I like to click through tabs, but the window keeps closing. If not, I'd like to request this feature.

Thanks and love TT2 !

Tom, do you mean the setting that I just documented at the top of this page? If not, can you paste a screen shot?
